Our club hosted a Bassmaster CastingKids Competition at the Newburgh Mall on April 20, 2008

The Bassmaster CastingKids program offers awards at the local, state and national levels in order to reward and motivate all young competitive anglers.  Winners of the local, state, regional and national competitions could win medals, plaques, rods and reels, tackleboxes and more.  Also, $21,000 in scholarships will be awarded to the winners in the two ages groups, 7-10 and 11-14, at the Bassmaster CastingKids finals each season.

The competition has three sections.  Casting from 30',  Pitching from 20', and Flipping from 10'.

Bassmaster CastingKids Target

The winners in each age group were given a CastingKids medal, a fishing pole equipped with the practice Berkley PowerCraw and Stanley Jigs and a CastingKids Target.    Best of luck at the state competition in Auburn to our winners!

There are no entry fees for CastingKids Competitions.  All you do is sign up if you are a girl or boy between the ages of 7 and 14.  If you want to find out the location of a Bassmaster CastingKids contest near you, contact BASS at:
